Amouage was established in 1983, when the Sultan (king) of Oman, ordered Prince Sayyid Hamad to found a company to preserve the perfume-making traditions of Oman, which is famous worldwide for frankincense (an ingredient that strongly enhances a fragrance and is featured in every Amouage scent)
